Dental Implants Process

We are excited to potentially help you create a beautiful new smile. This life-changing decision will renew your self-confidence and boost your quality of life.

Hillsboro Dental Excellence proudly offers a full line of dental implant procedures to patients with missing teeth. Whether you need to replace one teeth or a full arch of teeth, we have you covered with state-of-the-art treatment options.

If you’re wondering what you can expect from the dental implants process, we have included a general outline below.

Complimentary Consultation: Interested in regaining a fully functional smile? Contact our office to schedule your complimentary consultation. Our caring experts will help you determine your needs, assess your oral health, and discuss your treatment options. We will review financing as well as ways to keep your procedure comfortable. We may also conduct some digital imaging so we can start planning your treatment.

Treatment Evaluation: When we have decided on dental implants to improve your smile, Dr. Skinner will evaluate the density of the bone in your jaw, and use our state-of-the-art dental technology to determine where the dental implants should be placed. We will create an ideal surgical plan so that you achieve optimal results.

Dental Implant Placement: Sit back, relax, and enjoy high quality care. When it is time for your dental implant procedure, we will first ensure your comfort with local anesthesia and sedation, if desired. Our professionals will then use the treatment plan as a foundation for your precise dental implant placement procedure. In most cases, patients will leave our office with either temporary or permanent replacement teeth.

Recovery Time: Depending on your procedure, you may have a recovery time of three to six months. Other procedures involve immediate placement of the restorations.

Restoration Process: This stage of the process involves attaching a small connector post, called an abutment, to each implant. We will design custom restorations in our high quality dental lab. Once you and your dentist are satisfied with the color and shape of your restorations, we will attach them to the abutments.

Follow-up: You won’t have to make any big changes once you have dental implants. Continue to brush and floss daily, and visit our office twice yearly for check-ups. With proper care, your dental implants may last for a lifetime.
